Hey everyone! This week I left the MTC, spent a day or two in the mission home for orientation, met my trainer, moved into my area and met the members and interested people here. There have definitely been highs and lows but I seriously love my trainer and this area! This email is in sections just read what you want! TRAINER My trainer is Sister Francisquete and she's a major girl boss. Shes 24 and from here in the Philippines! She has a degree in Civil Engineering and she's crazy patient with me. I've had to ask her how to tabo ( The toilet/shower situation), how to use the laundry machine and the same Hiligaynon words over and over again. I'm her fourth trainee so I'm in good hands! Shes also been in this area for a while so she has a really great relationship with the Branch. She also knows i can't eat a ton of rice so when we were are an interested family's house and the Nanay (mom) left the room she took it off my plate. She also knows like 6 languages ...

Last Week Of MTC

Hey everyone!  This is going to be a much shorter email than normal. Today has been chaotic and its been a chaotic and challenging week. The reality of the field really hit the past few days and it hasn't been easy to manage. Although it has been tough I thought I would still try and share a few lighter things and a few short things that helped me. Also even through the tough moments there has still been good. FUNNY THINGS - We did finger printing this past Thursday so none of us get kicked out of the country. It took ages. We met some sister from the US who have been in the field for a transfer and it was fun to talk to them! We also played would you rather and one Elder in our district has a morbid fear of having a colostomy bag so every would you rather was like. " Be missing both your legs? Or have a colostomy bag?". I'm definently going to miss my district and my amazing kaupod Sister Bentley. REAL STUFF - This week I've definently learned alot about how my m...

Hey everyone! I did another week of MTC and it was fairly uneventful. We laugh alot and then we stress a little, but mostly I do the same day over and over again. But its a good day? This week I've been really realizing how close I am to leaving for the field and thats getting really stresful. ANYWAY, You know the drill. This email is in sections so just read what you want! HILIGAYNON - This week we've been working on teaching principles from lesson 1, 2 and 3 and compound sentences. We also learned how to give directions and we practiced walking around the courtyard yelling directions to eachother on how to get to the ice cream machines. We also retook a laguage assement that we did at the beginning of our stay here and I scored nocive high the first time. This time I was taking it and they started asking me to speak on the most wack subjects. My questions went from "How is Jesus our Savior?" to like " Why is organized religion important and what would happen i...

Hello everyone! This week was chaotic but also a copy and paste of last week. Also I hit my one month mark! BRUH that's wild. I love all your emails and i do my best to respond to them! It's been a good week but the language is getting more and more challenging and it can be hard to keep a positive mindset. I've decided I'll just interpretive dance all the lessons. It seems like the best option. Once again this email is in sections so you can just read what floats your boat. GOD BE WITH YOU 'TILL WE MEET AGAIN. - This week we said goodbye to the majority of our batch. All the missionaries who were assigned in their native language left so pretty much its just amaricans learning hiligaynon and a small group of missionaries learning cambodian and thai that are still here from our batch. Our sacrament meeting this week was real small. Many of the sisters who left lived on our floor. The night before they left we gathered in the hallway and sang God Be With You 'Til...
