I Don't Wear The Same Thing Everyday, I Promise.
Helloooo everyone! This week has definitely been one to remember. It's been long and tiring but not draining or dragging. As always, lots of miracles here in Oton.
Guess what? This email is in sections baby.

GUIMBAL
We had transfers again this week but this time they decided that it wasn't the greatest idea for Sister Fifita and I to be alone so we got Sister Salacup too! Maybe because we kept telling people how it was a miracle that we survived on our one. That might be why. Anyway we visited Guimal which is part of Sister Fifita's area. Its nickname is the "town of the rising sun" so everythihg is yellow.
In Gimbal we taught John Rhey again (he always talks about wanting to marry a white woman). Anway we were teaching him about temples and such and I put on chapstick and he goes " Wow sister Larson, you're lips look so kissable right now". See if I even use chapstick again. I said " John Rhey I don't know if I can come back here again". Classic John Rhey moment.

WONDER OF WONDER MIRACLES OF MIRACLES
This song has been stuck in my head all week. That and On the Floor by Jlo and Pitbull but that's besides the point. We had a few little itsy bitsy safety issues this week that I won't get into but each time something wack happens I always feel protected. As long as we're following the spirit I know we'll be safe.
One specific, non-safety, related miracle this week is Judith. Sister Francisquete and I were walking between appointments in an area we don't normally visit and we walked past a woman and gave our usual "maayong hapon" or "good afternoon". She immediately walked out of her house and said (in Hiligaynon obvi) "are you the mormons?". This kind of question can only mean two things. Either they are ready to bash or they are seriously ready to learn. Luckily for us it was the latter. She told us one of her friends is a Mormon and her kids are schoolmates with her. Good reminder that just being a member and being a good example is powerful missionary work. We gave her a Book of Mormon and she started reading it while we were there. She was asking us about the Bible references in the footnotes and if Mormon was the author or just compiled the records. Ummm GOLDEN questions. Then she asked us when we could come teach her and her family. GIRL. ANYTIME. lets do it right now. We can come morning day or night. Do you want to be baptized tomorrow? Yah that was cool. And we're going to teach her this week!
SISTER THE SKY

Its gorgalicious here. Except for when its stinky.
SISTER FRANCISQUETE
Ok so Sister Francisquete is a fire teacher. We were teaching Jared this week and we were waiting for his father, who is a less active member, to come home to join the lesson. Brother walked in and was clearly quite drunk and then he had a nice lil cigarette too. So, when he came and sat down for the lesson I was like " this is gonna be interesting, but here we go". I'm like prepping my Hiligaynon mentally right to teach about faith and then BOOM. Sister Francisquete is like "Brother, what do you remember about the Word of Wisdom". BRUH. I was like OK GIRL. So while drunk this sweet brother tells us about how we aren't supposed to drink alcohol. Because she was bold enough to address the elephant in the room we were able to make actual progress with him and help him make a plan to quit. After our lesson he tried to give un bananas and he grabbed a bag for them but the bag was way too small. He still really wanted us to have all those bananas though so he piled them in and then it was do heavy sister and I both had to take a handle. We were asking everyone we talked to after that to please take some bananas.
COOKING
This week I learned how to make apon-apon and Tortang Talong. Apon- Apon is like an adobe but with like a bundle of lake weeks and pork. And then Tortang Talong (I'm positive thats spelled wrong) is friend eggplant. They actually were both super good and I didn't even burn the rice.

This is just a picture Sister Francisquete took of me in a jeepney. *not staged*
Also I just realized all of these photos are from the same day… or maybe I just wore the same thing everyday. No one knows.

This is us with Christenette! She is 14 years old and it getting baptized hopefully on the 5th of November! This is also proof that I have other clothes.
MORMON 9
I was studying this chapter this week and it's all about miracles. It starts off with a solid call to repentance from Moroni. He asks us not to deny that prophets still receive revelation today and that God still preforms miracles. Then he says in verse 8 " he that denieth these things knoweth not the gospel of Christ; yea, he has not read the scriptures; if so, he does not understand them". Boom. No sugar coating from Moroni. He goes on to ask " Isn't God the same yesterday, today and tomorrow?" I'm paraphrasing. He goes on to say, if God is unchanging and he performed miracles with Isaac, Abraham and other ancient prophets then surely he must still perform miracles today. He says in verse in 15 " God has not ceased to be a God of miracles.". God is unchanging so therefore: miracles still happen. I promise that through Christ miracles can and will happen in your life. Verse 21 " whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth." Those that believe in Christ and act on their faith can and will see miracles in their lives. Please go study the Book of Mormon! Try and find Christ on every page!!!!
Love you tons! Thank you for your prayers, love and support!
