Malipayon Nga Paskwa
Hello everyone and Merry Christmas or in Hiligaynon- Malipayon nga Paskwa!! This week was a long one. Goos but long. We went to SM (the mall) on Monday, had our Christmas Conference on Tuesday, called in sick on Wednesday and then worked the rest of the week. Oton is still the same baby. My new companions are both the sweetest and its been fun to actually start to get to know each other this week!
Christmas here is a big deal but as missionaries it's pretty much just another day of work. So while I miss home it still pretty much seems like a normal week and its so hot my body still thinks its August. #ChristmasinJuly. Now I have prepared some sections for you.
SISTER SULAPAS AND SISTER SADUESTE
My companions are what we call totes adorbs and baskog guid (super strong). We all have different native languages so our common language is Hiligaynon now. This is super perfect because I actually am still not that fab at Hiligaynon. But I've loved learning from them so far. Sister Sadueste is a fab cook and has the biggest heart. Sister Sulapas is super funny and always says " Ah shocking" instead of like oh no or something.
This is us with one of our interested people, Francis Mae! She is 15 years old and so far super excited to learn from the missionaries.
This photo was us at the ward before sister Sulapas spoke at a baptism and pretty much captures the energy of our companionship.

OTON
This week was lots of visiting members and me trying to help my companions learn the area. Its low key stressful but so far we're all still alive and stuff.
CHRISTMAS CON
This week we had our mission Christmas Conference! Its like a devotional and then afterwards we have like games and skits and stuff.
The night before Christmas Con the Assistant to the President called and asked if I would sing with three other missionaries at Christmas Con. So yah we met up that morning and whipped up a version of The First Noel.
Our conference included two zones of missionaries so it was super fun to see lots of missionaries.
This is Iloilo zone! See if you can spot me- this ones tricky.
Us waiting for vaccines. I didn't have to get any but the medical team really said Merry Christmas here's a needle in your arm.

PEACE ON EARTH GOOD WILL TO MEN
This week I was studying Luke 2, for obvious reasons and the part that was really sticking out to me was what the angels said to the shepherds. First they tell the shepherds where to find Baby Jesus and what he will look like. Then in verse 13 it says a "multitude of heavenly hosts" appeared and praised God saying, verse 14 " Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men." Once the shepherds knew how to find Christ they were promised peace. Then they took action and immediately began their journey to find their savior. The same goes for us. We too can find Christ this Christmas and we too can feel peace. We can find Christ through reading scriptures, praying, serving others, listening to spiritual music and spending time with those we love. So I know Christmas is today or tomorrow for most of you but I invite you to make a special effort to find Christ this Christmas so that you to can sing in your hearts "glory to God" and feel peace.
I testify that Christ is the Prince of Peace. His birth wouldn't mean anything if he hadn't also atoned for our sins. Its His atoning sacrifice that bring peace to our souls. It's His atoning sacrifice that provides second chances and someone who knows exactly what you've been through. He is Peace.
Merry Christmas! And I hope you all do something special today and eat something yummy.
