Motherhood
IM A MOTHER
Hello everyone, I just ate an entire can of tuna and mashed it into some rice and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a real one. Moving on from the Tuna. I had several days in a trio, a day working in Arevalo, I met my child and experienced my first few days as a trainer. I currently do not have cool things to say about it so lets start writing and see what happens.

TWO AMERICANS AND A BAG OF BREAD
So this week when Sister Baldueza went home RIP we had a few days where I worked in a trio with Sister Pecundo, obvs, and my fabulous mtc comp Sister Bentley! Let's just say there's a reason there will probably never be two american sisters (kanas) working together. The three of us had so much fun.
One member gave us a bag of the most scrumptious bread and the two of us were riding in the back of a tryke holding a bag of bread. Fulfilling every American stereotype ever.
We also taught this one tatay and he speaks the fastest, craziest, deepest Karay-a ever and smokes 20 cigs a day. So first of all at the beginning we were like “is it ok if we sing”. And he was like “ sure let me get my guitar”. So we were like “ yes please, get your guitar”. So we tried singing Keep the Commandments and he just played like random despacito style plucking on the guitar. Frankly the three of us did not keep it together very well. Then he was mean to me later so I'm never visiting him again. CHAR (JOKE) . Pero basi toud yun.

A DAY IN AREVALO
So once we traveled to Iloilo I worked in Arevalo a bit with Sister Castañaga, Sister Reyes and Sister Falelei! Again it was really cool to see other people's teaching styles and how they like to do finding. Also I got to see lots of sisters who were passing through the office!

Also Sister Largo joined the Antique crew and shes the cutest. Here we are.
SPIRITUAL MOMENT
So my thought for this week is focused on missionary work but is also really applicable to everyone. It can be hard as a missionary not to compare our outward results with others. We not that comparison is the theif of joy but with constant accounting and pushing for more baptisms it can be difficult not to see our faults and compare to other missionaries and areas. I've been studying the two accounts of Ammon and Aaron. Both were equally preapred and skilled. Ammon met king Lamoni and after cutting off some arms, he was able to help king Lamoni be converted and many his kingdom followed. Aaron was rejected by several cities and then put in jail. I can imagine if you had looked at their “numbers” you would have seen a stark difference. From Alma 19: 31-32 we also see that people chose how to respond to their message differently. Some belived and converted and others, who heard the same message, did not belive. Both missionaries tried their best. Both were obedient. Both were faithful but they had opposite direct results. It wasn't until years later that Aaron's efforts finally yielded results.
I would challenge all of us both as missionaries and people to avoid comparing our lives, our sucesses, or anything else. God has given us unique gifts and talents and he has a unique timeline for each of us. How people choose to respond to us and our message is up to them. Let us strive to avoid comparing our weaknesses to other's strengths.
Love you lots, Sorry for the medio boring email.
I know Christ lives, I'm grateful to be a missionary and I love my family.
