ANOTHER ONE IN ANTIQUE

Mayad na aga from San Jose, Antique! I just cleaned some maggots off our porch.

We had transfer calls this week and I will be staying here which means Sister Pernitez has to put up with me for another cycle. Yuno. But it's been a really good week overall. We also had Zone Con this week which is always so fun to see other missionaries! Anyway, here is some information about my week.

WORK, WORK, WORK

Just a few pics from our work this week. Featuring the time I are really spicy siomai and I had to take Sister Pernitez's Mountain Dew because I was not doing so hot.

EXCHANGES

My MTC self would have freaked out if she knew I would have exchanges with Sister Bentley. We had a day just the two of us and it was so stinkin fun. Also people kept asking us if we were siblings and we said yes every time.

Also RIP Sister Bentley's Antique era because now she's leaving us for freaking BORACAY.

We also had a lesson with a guy and after we prayed he was like “I'll say one for you now because it's much better if men pray because they have more power”. He gave like a 5 second prayer and then was like “don't we all feel better now?” and I was like shoot if only I had known sooner.

We found these chicken feet which we now use to keep the aswangs away and bring us good luck at cock fights.

LINOLEUM AND THE BARCENAL FAMILY

On our exchanges we had a service project! One of our families that we are helping prepare for baptism had their house literally collapse this past week. The Barcenal family. We were able to get the Elder's Quorum together and help tear down what was left of the old house and build a new one! I picked this title because we tore up like decades of layers of linoleum.

Tatay Barcenal is one of the people we have been working with on and off to prepare for baptism and this week we shared about the temple and eternal families and we watched Tatay's face and demeanor change as we taught those valuable truths. We are hoping we can help keep his momentum goin and he will be baptized a week or two after Jovie!

ZONE CON

We had our Antique Zone con this week and it was pretty fab! I actually had a lot of questions answered and got some good practice testifying clearly and briefly.

THE INFINITE ATONEMENT

I've been studying the book The Infinite Atonement by Tad R. Callister and it is blowing my mind how much there is to understand about Christ's atonement. For my spiritual thought I just wanted to share one quote.

“ The Savior's love was not a love for the righteous only; it was not an abstract love; nor was it demonstrated by one dramatic sacrificial act and nothing more. To the contrary, it was a day-by-day, hour-by-hour, even moment-by-moment love!” pg. 317

I testify that Christ loves you. Not just your sibling. Not just your friend. He loves you and he can be with you in your day-by-day, hour-by-hour, even moment-by-moment trials. He is with you for you are His.

see you next week
