Blood, Sweat, Tears And Peanut Butter

Well I didn't take a lot of pics this week so ambay lang. It's been a week of blood, sweat, tears and an obscene lack of peanut butter. This was a week I needed peanut butter but I never got some. Rip. pray for me. God only gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

Anway this week our area felt real small. I swear we walked every street 4 times. But with that in mind we still saw miracles. Even the stinky weeks, God still makes miracles and its still worth it.

MASENYA FAMILY
(see pictures)

Meet the Masenya family! We have been teaching them for a little while now and two of the sisters were on date for baptism! This past week two of their brothers accepted as well! We are really hopeful for their family. Everytime we visit them mangos and chickens fall from the sky.

THE BOY BAND

So we have this one street in our area where I swear we are teaching someone in every house. It's also the street where two of our new converts, Jovie and Abu live! We had a family home evening there with some of the members and they were adorable. That was on a Saturday and they came to church the next morning! Reymark or “toytoy” is one of their friends and he will be baptized in July! Toytoy, Jovie, Abu and one of their friends “Thor'' attended Sunday School. The teacher asked who reads the Book of Mormon everyday and Toytoy raised his hand and then said it makes him feel peace. That was a “your efforts are worth it” moment for me.

Here we are at the FHE and I promise you there is a reason we all have Italian hands in this picture.

I'M SWEATIN LIKE A SINNER IN CHURCH

Obviously at this point it's not a surprise that it was as hot as it was this week but lately it's been taking a toll on my sanity and as one of the members said “ this is how it will feel in Hell… I hope that's motivation for you to work for the Celestial Kingdom.” got us there sister vangie.

THE KNITTY GRITTY

Let's get down to the knitty gritty. Idk if that is supposed to be spelled with a “k” or not but I like it that way.

Missions are hard. I'm over halfway and its still hard. It's hard to walk around in the heat. Hard to learn the language. It's hard to be rejected. It's hard when people who could have been baptized decide they aren't ready. But it's worth it. I’ve extended so, so many baptismal invitations and so far less than 10 have actually become a baptism. But it's worth it. It's all worth it. When we remember the why. It's worth it. Elder Uctdorf said in his talk “Our Heartfelt All”, “Over time, it all becomes one work. One joy. One holy purpose. It is the work of loving and serving God. It is loving and serving God’s children.” The work of loving God and his children is worth it.

I love this gospel and I love my Savior.

See you next week with transfer news. Hopefully I find some peanut butter.
