Love You Mom

Hey Guys! This week was better than the last. Instead of just sizzling lso started like monsooning in the afternoons. So it's like 100+ in the mornings and then pouring rain in the afternoon. It's been really helpful in our finding efforts *this is satire*.

SISTER KENDRA

Kendra is the miracle of the week. Most of our people with a baptismal date were baptized and the rest that we were working on kinda…. Moved to another area without telling us…. Moved to another area without telling us AND got baptized into a different church ️aaaaand of course never came to church. So I was feeling a little bit super stinky and not sure what else to do for this area. Then we reached out to some members and our sweet neighbor worked with us and we met the Santillan family! Tatay and her older sister are members and Kendra has come to church before! We were able to extend her baptism on our first meeting, she said yes and came to church!

While teaching her about Joseph Smith we watched a video of the first vision. Afterwards We asked her how she felt and she said “intrigued”.

BREAD AND MANGOS

We have a sweet member in this area named Nanay Hena and she has a bread stall in the market. One day we were trying to follow up with some people we met there. We said hi to nanay and then went on our way. Maybe 10 minutes later she called our phone and was like “I was praying you would pass my stand again”. So we went back and she gave a whole bag of bread. Love her

A man very high up in a tree yelled at us and was like “sisters! Do you want mangos?” Of course we said yes so he threw some to his friend who threw them over the fence to us.

It's the little things. Here is us with the bread

BROTHER ARNOLD

We met this cute family like months ago but everytime we went back they were either busy, not home or sick. So we finally got to go back to them! When we invited them to pray about the Book of Mormon brother Arnold said he already knows it is true. He shares that he had been taught by missionaries a long time ago and had read The Book of Mormon before. We invited him to church and he said he would come. Then he didn't come to church. De heck Arnold. But we are still really excited for their family!

SISTER MERCY
(see pictures)

This pic looks like I'm about to ascend but that is besides the point.

Sister Mercy was referred by her sister who is a very active member is Sibalom, a neighboring area. As we explained to her what the Holy Ghost feels like and how important it is to know for ourselves, she kept saying how she has felt that when she came to this church sadto. She is so so close. We shared the thought with her from President Nelson. I may be plagerizing but its something along the lines of: other churches have the ability to make bad men good but only this church has an effect on your life after this one.

We are excited for sister Mercy and hope she continues to progress!

WHY IS THE RUM GONE

We had some amusing interactions with drunk men this week that I think you will find them very amusing.

So one day there was this man standing kinda in the middle of the street so we said “Mayad na hapon” or “good afternoon” as we walked by and he asked us where we were going. After answering his question I asked him what he was doing. He told us about the nature of his work- unreated to the question. So I clarified, what are you doing in the street and he was like well, I was in fact drinking. Anyway we gave him a picutre of Jesus.

The next guy kept trying to give us firstbumps in slow motion. He also told us that he loved us. Thats the kinda energy we need everyone.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Happy mothers day to my beautiful mother and to all the mother-figures in my life! (That includes you @sister fransiquete). Thank you for what you have taught me and the selfless way you have sacrificed for others.

In Alma 56:48 the strippling warriors famously said, “we do not doubt our mothers knew it”. My mom has already heard this but- I do not doubt my mother knows it. It being the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You've heard this before as well but… Thank you mom for your years of patient parenting, for each time your dried my tears and for being the voice in my head reminding me to say my prayers.

Brothers and sisters don't forget to thank your mothers, say your prayers and read your scriptures.

I know that The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints is true. I know that this is the only church that has power to bind us to our families forever. The Book of Mormon is true and I invite you all to sacrifice a few minutes of your day to connect with God by reading his words. We are children of heavely parents with a diving nature and eternal worth. Jesus loves you. Keep going. You got this.
