BULWANG BLUES

So we have this one area called Bulwang and someone got shot there this week and we can't wear red when we got there because it makes this one nanay really mad. But most importantly nanay Tuayon is from Bulwang. She is 70+ and a fashion gurlie. Meet nanay Tuayon. I hope she makes your day.

We just asked if we could take a picture and she was like “ of course”. Nanay is my inspiration to stop dressing like a 2005 frumpy sister missionary.

LOVE THE WORK, WORK WITH LOVE

You guysssss we had our MLC this week and it was an answer to so many of my prayers. We focused on building a culture of love for our savior in our mission. President said “Love the work, work with love.” Ok president drop some bars. We also talked about how we literally cannot be exactly obedient but we can be strictly obedient. It definitely helped me realize how much of a perfectionist I am when it comes to my missionary work. But there are no perfect missionaries. I know. Groundbreaking stuff but I needed to hear it. He also asked us “ would you talk about a loved one the way you talk about yourself inside your head?” Ok. Called out.  Overall I left with a deeper desire to serve the Lord and also to be nicer to myself #lol.

We don't have the official pictures yet from MLC so sa next week na lang.

Also only 2/8 of us threw up on the bus ride.

We also had a bike training so that when we get bikes if one of the sisters breaks their bike they call us. #womaninstem. 

ALSO I got to see my bestie Sister Bentley. Lub Lub go cougars. We also got to have a sleepover with Sister Pecundo, Sister Ramos and Sister Nang. #alfalfa

PRUTAS

Guava and Rambutan are in season here I'm a big fan. We have a huge like potato sack full of Rambutan that a member gave us. They look like something from Guardians of the Galaxy but I call it the fruit of knowledge of good and evil.

Our worker really wanted me to take a pic with this guava so I obliged.

LETS GO SES

You guys I have been SLACKING when it comes to exercise. So Sister Castañaga are trying to exercise every day and it still sucks every morning. 

This is me trying to teach sis how to do a pushup. She goes “ its so heavy gali”. Yah ses thats why we're doing it.

WORK

Guys, I swear we work. We just never remember to take pictures and then when we do my I look like a wet rat so I never include them in my email.

“HOW FAR IS HEAVEN? TWO KNEES AWAY” 

A member here in Numancia shared this in her testimony and It really hit me hard. My time here in Numancia has been challenging but I have seen so many prayers answered; Especially those offered from my knees. Heavenly Father is waiting to answer your questions, provide relief and dry your tears. You just have to kneel down first in prayer.

Hey guys, you are reading my first ever email from Numancia. This past week was lots of goodbyes, bus rides and me not understanding what people are saying. Double thumbs up. My new area so far is super different from my last area in San Jose but I love it here. My new comp is Sister Castañaga and she is the nicest person I have ever met. Anyway, here's the rundown.  LAST MOMENTS IN ANTIQUE My week from Sunday to Thursday was still about normal work wise with some added packing and goodbyes. It was so hard saying goodbye to some of our new converts and so yah I maybe cried a little. Well, I Made Some Rocks

Hellooooooo it's Sister Larson again. Surprise. It's been a solid week. I had a cold which shouldn't have been that much of a big deal but it had me feeling like one of those frogs that came out in the rain but then got hit by a motorcycle and then dried up in the sun. You know that feeling?  I made a collage to better illustrate. But just like these dead frogs still made this beautiful collage my week was still beautiful and full of miracles. (Picture 1) EXCHANGES A highlight of this week was our exchanges with the Kalibo 2nd sisters! I got to work with Sister Camain who is a girlboss. We met lots of cool people and got some new mosquito bites. (Pictures 2-3) NUMANCIA PEOPLE AND PLACES Numancia never ceases to amaze me. "Sa Taas"

This week was lots of new and saying goodbye to old. I said goodbye to my companion Sister Castañaga. We were companions for so long so it was like saying goodbye to my best friend. But mostly I'm excited for her and the next few chapters of her life. Palangga ta ka ate Eddielyn. Kitaay sa pagkasal mo. Osoyan mo ro gwapo. I also met my new companion Sister Panuelos and she is sooooo baskog. She is small but fierce. She's straight up with our IPs and members and also literally hilarious. We're still getting to know eachother but she like One Direction so we should be good.  ANYWAY. here's the rundown BYE BYE SISTER CASTAÑAGA  Early Wednesday morning I said goodbye to Sister Castañaga and sent her on the bus to Iloilo.
