Assigned To Labor

The only major themes for this week was me trying to keep up with Sister Castañaga's sonic speed biking and all of our progressing friends deciding they don't want to be taught actually and they hate us. That is only a slight hyperbole. Also we just played basketball and a district and it was 4 sisters against 2 Elders, and of course the sisters won. They're lucky I was wearing tsinelas or I would've destroyed them. But I jammed my finger super bad and now its purple and swollen. Pray for my finger I have championships next week. While this week was challenging work wise I'm incredibly grateful for the spiritual insights I have gained. Boom.  SUNSET WITH ELECTRIC WIRES (See pictures) EXCHANGES WITH SISTER BLAKE (See pictures) Had exchanges with Sister Blake this week. Rawr. Found some cool people. Practiced our akeanon and tried to explain to everyone where Tonga is. We had to be like you know Moana? Yah over there. VEGGIES (See pictures) One of the people we are t...

Bicycles And Baptism

Image
I shall now illustrate my week through a series of quotations and pictures. Please enjoy this multi- media presentation. “I Want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike.” Freddie Mercury (see pictures) Yep, it finally happened. We got our bikessss. It is only the hope and dream of my heart. But its been kinda bagio- ing here so our first few days of bike riding have been through flood water and sheets of rain.  All of the trike drivers who used to take us everywhere make little comments everytime they see us biking. They're like “Wow you have bikes.” And we're like “thank you manong that's true.” (see pictures) The water on the camera is for aesthetics and realism.  But for real, since we got our bikes we have seen some many miracles. We can simply get to more people faster. But more on that later. “And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the...

Failure Is The Best Teacher

“Promptings from the Holy Ghost push past human logic and into omniscience”. Me, I said that So when I thought earlier that I shouldn't lock the window, that was an omniscience moment because we just got locked out of our apartment again and ended up having to replace the entire doorknob. I tried doing it with a card but I don't think I have acquired that skill yet.  *More on that later. I just wanted to start by quoting myself to make me sound like a cool philosopher or something. ILOILO Hey besties. I spent most of last week in Iloilo for a Mission Tour and MLC with Elder and Sister Revillo. I learned soooo much and mostly not through words actually said. We got to stay for both days soooo behold- Iloilo Mission. (see pictures) BATCH MATES I think we got almost all of our batch here…. Let's go batch 766 (see pictures) OTON wait Whaaaaat??? Yah thats right I got to work in my first area for a few hours and we had a challenge to find 10 people. Uswag Oton. This is the bridg...

I Know In Whom I Have Trusted

HELLO EVERYONE. Happy “Ber” months! That means Christmas has offically started here. Decorations are going up, Mariah Carey is playing. Its getting real. Last time this year I was in the MTC and there was a Christmas tree and I was like huuuuuh??  Anyway not a ton to report this week. The work is still going. Even if its going a little bit slow. Time is fast. The progress is slow. DURIAN Durian is a spiky stinky fruit from Mindanao. Its stinkyness is infamous. Anyway, I tried it on Monday and I found it to be quite sarap. I liked it so much they gave me my own to take home with me. This is me going through the stages of grief deciding if I like it or not. (see pictures) TANGALAN X MAKATO DISTIRCT We all tried Durian and then I snuck the tupperware into one of the Elders bags but I felt bad about it later and had to take it back later because that stuff is STANKY. jumpshot kuno (see pictures) EXCHANGES (see pictures) I got to work with Sister Oquindo in Kalibo this week and she is a...
