Numancia- Jaro

Image
This was a major vibe shift.  I went from biking through the mud in typhoons to crossing four lanes of traffic and eating at Jollibee. I'm just a provincial gurlie trying to survive in the big city.  DAHAN NUMANCIA  So turns out it's actually hard to leave an area when you've been their for 6 months. That place has my blood, sweat, tears and hair (ligit I have no hair- a buzzcut might have to happen when I get home because these Gollum strands are not giving.) The people, my companions, the scenery, the food, the wack language. I already miss it. But, I know I need to grow in another way now.  Sister Panuelossss. mahidlaw ko kimo. Take care of our turtle child.  I learned so so much from Sister Panuelos. She taught me how to love the work despite results or lack of and to laugh when things go wrong. Dahan Tundo Girlie. Wag mo malipat magkaon it gulay ha? PALANGGA TAKA. This one was a hard goodbye. These little tweens have my heart. Their testimonies are pure and...

Its Not About You

I don't have a lot to day this week other than God has been reminding me 🎶it's not about you🎶. That's an efy song for my friends who listen to music other than Nik Day.  ESTO FAMILY (see pictures) Man idk what I ate but this day was not a good one for the stomach ni Sister Larson. I was teaching and I had to like tap Sister Panuelos to start over because I thought I was gonna puke. #gurlythings VALENCIA FAMILY (see pictures) This family is the cutest. We challenged them to read the Book of Mormon. When we followed up we got about the answers we were expecting: “oh I read the first little bit”, “I was too busy” amo na. But their 13 year old daughter was like “I really liked the part about Enos. HUHHHH? Yah she’s cool.  NEDIC FAMILY (see pictures) Cool member family who gave us Almond Joys from Hong Kong.  MARISOL FAMILY (see pictures) Referral from our very mahuggod worker. This is Terry and her fam and she just started reading the Book of Mormon! NANAY MARIAN  (see...

Alma 26

Alma 26:27 “ Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto the sucess.” GOD'S WORK ☆ The inactive father of one of our recent converts came back to church after years of inactivity and their family was finally complete. It's not a baptism but its a forever family. ☆ The Niño family- we met the Niño family this week and they are already reading the Book of Mormon. We asked the Father to offer the closing prayer and he was shy but offered the sweetest prayer for his family. On Sunday Sister came and brought her two youngest children. She didn't want to leave them so we attened primary with them. Best chuch experience I've had in a long time. ☆ Tatay Benji- We shared about the Book of Mormon to Brother Benji and asked him how he would feel if he cohld hold the gold plates. He said “that would be the luckiest p...

We Both Know We Aint Kids No More

Hello, its me. I'm in numancia dreamin’ about who we used to be……  I was going to write a whole Adele parody but I decided I have no time to choose what I chose to do. Yah.  LORAX We had exchanges with the Makato Sisters and I worked with Sister Blake. Here are the main points. Our litson manok (like a rotisserie chicken for my slc readers) fell off the handlebars of my bike and I ran over it with my bike but we still ate it. It's all good, we were real hungry.  I locked my bike (actually not the bike I was borrowing) to a tree because Sister Blake said she had the key. Anyway, she said wrong and I had to go find a man with a saw to cut down the tree because those bike locks are indestructible. I felt so bad, I kept playing scenes from the Lorax in my head. Here is said tree and the cutest member family we met before cutting down their tree. Also side note- I love that here I can just ask a random man to cut down a tree for me and he just gets a saw and gets it done....
