Come, Feel, See

Image
Helluer everyone and welcome to another episode of Sister Larson in Antique and guess what this will be the last.  Wait lang wait lang I'll tell you later sa diin… But first buckle up because I wrote this email in sections according to my will and pleasure with no distinguishable order. BYE BYE SAN JOSE (see pictures) San Jose missionaries lublub Insert the rest of Elder Alberto's face here. I've been in San Jose for about 6 months and it's really started to feel like home. Of course it's not been easy and sometimes I could really feel all 6 of those months. Sometimes I was like “de heck man I'm still here?”. But I love San Jose. My companions, my fellow missionaries, the members, the language and even the boiled rats will always have a special place in my heart (and in rat purgatory.) Well I'll probably cry on the bus on the way to Numancia. It will be good and probably help people be interested in our message. (see pictures) ZONE CON We had our Antique and...

Blood, Sweat, Tears And Peanut Butter

Image
Well I didn't take a lot of pics this week so ambay lang. It's been a week of blood, sweat, tears and an obscene lack of peanut butter. This was a week I needed peanut butter but I never got some. Rip. pray for me. God only gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.  Anway this week our area felt real small. I swear we walked every street 4 times. But with that in mind we still saw miracles. Even the stinky weeks, God still makes miracles and its still worth it. MASENYA FAMILY (see pictures) Meet the Masenya family! We have been teaching them for a little while now and two of the sisters were on date for baptism! This past week two of their brothers accepted as well! We are really hopeful for their family. Everytime we visit them mangos and chickens fall from the sky. THE BOY BAND So we have this one street in our area where I swear we are teaching someone in every house. It's also the street where two of our new converts, Jovie and Abu live! We had a family home...

Love You Mom

Image
Hey Guys! This week was better than the last. Instead of just sizzling lso started like monsooning in the afternoons. So it's like 100+ in the mornings and then pouring rain in the afternoon. It's been really helpful in our finding efforts *this is satire*.  SISTER KENDRA Kendra is the miracle of the week. Most of our people with a baptismal date were baptized and the rest that we were working on kinda…. Moved to another area without telling us…. Moved to another area without telling us AND got baptized into a different church ️aaaaand of course never came to church. So I was feeling a little bit super stinky and not sure what else to do for this area. Then we reached out to some members and our sweet neighbor worked with us and we met the Santillan family! Tatay and her older sister are members and Kendra has come to church before! We were able to extend her baptism on our first meeting, she said yes and came to church!  While teaching her about Joseph Smith we watched a vide...

Mother's Day Favor

Dear Hannah, I have an actual letter coming behind this one but I wanted to make sure you got this first.  I need you to write a tribute to mom that I can have one of your brothers read from the pulpit on Mother's Day.  I need to have it before May 12. Thanks! Love, Dad Hi Dad! I did get it but my P day was crazy so I didnt have a chance to write it... i just got permission from my mission president last night and so I wrote this up. Hopefully this is about the right length.... Hello brothers and sisters and Happy Mothers day from Iloilo Philippines! I'm honored to adress the mothers of our ward and specifically my dearest mom, Melissa Larson. We do not doubt our mothers knew it. While teaching a lesson recentley to a member family I asked the 11 year old daughter, "what is one thing you will never forget that your mother taught you?" If I'm being completely honest I don't fully remeber her answer but I do remember the many answers that came flooding into m...
